Laura on a young jumper at HITS 2009 Tuscon

Laura Simpson, Head Trainer

Laura grew up in New Jersey showing horses and ponies. She moved to New Mexico in 1990. In 1995, Laura won the Zone 8 Amateur/Owner Jumper finals—a turning point in her riding career. She became a professional shortly thereafter and launched her business in Albuquerque.

In the past 14 years, Laura has trained and competed horses at all levels of competition. She is equally at home riding either a hunter or a jumper. She's won many state "AA" championships as well as year-end and zone awards.

Laura's riding style and flexible training programs allow success for all kinds of different horses.

While many of Laura's students have reached the top ranks of the state and the zone. some just want to improve their riding skills. All lessons are either private or taught in small groups of no more than three riders. This allows for an individualized program that meets the horse and rider's specific goals.

Schooling Shows

We hosted our first schooling show on June 18. The logistics all worked and 28 horses all started over a derby type course on the grass.

We are planning another schooling show for September. Hunters will show in morning and jumpers in the afternoon. The show will again take place on the grass. Looking forward to keeping you updated on the upcoming schooling show.
